My arch nemesis when it comes to all things art has always been human anatomy. Whether it's because humans are strange or because it's hard to look at my own body for reference without turning into a human pretzel I'm not sure, but I know it's one of my weakest areas. For that reason, tackling making an arm from scratch freaked me out. As I worked I kept attempting to use reference, both from anatomy books, the internet, and my own arm, but it always felt like there was a disconnect between what arms should look like and what I was making. Over the summer I plan to dive back into the deep end and attempt something that doesn't look like steroids gone wrong, maybe try a female arm so the muscles aren't so pronounced. Anatomy is definitely a place I need to focus on getting better and I don't plan on letting the strangeness of the human body win.
